Bore Gage:
A bore gauge is a convenient term for the measuring or transfer tools that are used in the process of accurately measuring holes.
Height Gage:
A Height Gage is a measuring device used either for determining the height of something, or for repetitious marking of items to be worked on
Digital Caliper:
A refinement now popular is the replacement of the analog dial with an electronic digital display on which the reading is displayed as a single value. Some digital calipers can be switched between centimeters or millimeters, and inches. All provide for zeroing the display at any point along the slide, allowing the same sort of differential measurements as with the dial caliper.
Dial Caliper:
Dial Calipers provide quick, accurate measurements of outside dimensions, inside dimensions, and depth. The dial caliper is the most versatile precision hand tool on the market and has been the first choice of metal working professionals for decades. Instead of using a vernier mechanism, which requires some practice to use, the dial caliperreads the final fraction of a millimeter or inch on a simple dial.
Digital Indicator:
With the advent of electronics and LCDs, the clock face (dial) and analog display has been replaced in some indicators with digital displays. Digital indicators have some advantages over their analog predecessors. Many models of digital indicator can record and transmit the data electronically to a computer
Dial Indicator:
Indicators may be used to check the variation in tolerance during the inspection process of a machined part, measure the deflection of a beam or ring under laboratory conditions, as well as many other situations where a small measurement needs to be registered or indicated.
Profilometer:
Profilometer is a measuring instrument used to measure a surface's profile, in order to quantify its roughness.
